Until Les Planes d'Hostoles we will enjoy a long and fun trail crossing a volcano.
After passing by some magnificent pool, - in summer you can enjoy a good bath - the asphalted track disappears and following many beautiful hiking trails, mainly climbing and relatively technical, we will finally reach Sant Iscle de Colltort. Here comes the second great asphalted ascent to a new path, which will allow us to discover an area as remote as it is impressive for its forests, meadows and streams, as is the Serrat de les Medes. After crossing the Serrat de Finestres, another very long trail will finally bring us to Santa Pau, where we will be waiting for us in the lodging with our luggage.

A new stretch of dirt track and asphalt bring us to the crest of the Sierra de Mont-ros. Again, a fun trail will bring us closer to Santa Maria de la Devesa, a beautiful hermitage of late Romanesque. After the final descent to Castellfollit de la Roca (another of the most outstanding tourist villages of La Garrotxa) we head to Montagut to ascend to the Mare del Déu del Cos and enjoy a ... sublime and long trail!
We will turn around the Sierra de Vivers to enter Sant Joan les Fonts through the "back door"; Huge lava flows await us on a predominantly black soil due to volcanic influence. After some relatively difficult stretches - we will ride over several blocks of lava - we finally arrive at La Canya, entering Olot between two volcanoes. The visit to Olot -including the ascent to the Volcà de Montsacopa- shows us a city as active as it is beautiful. The route takes us to the accommodation of the first night, to which we have brought our luggage and where we can take a shower

General Information.

Pedals d’Olot Is an authentic MTB adventure. Touring around of La Garrotxa more unknown, enjoying a huge variety of trails - some extraordinarily easy; others really technical - you can live a territory as beautiful as demanding, outside the large tourist areas (such as La Fageda d'en Jordà, Santa Pau ...). Because there is another Garrotxa, totally unknown, with multitude of river pools in small streams, huge meadows and pastures between thick forests, old farms now abandoned ..., between old roads and miles and miles of trails. Departing from Olot and with accommodation already on the night before departure, come and discover for 2 days the magic of a wonderful territory.

Itinerary Day 1

On the first day, we will begin to enjoy the first trails as soon as we leave Olot. After a section of the Greenway, we will arrive at Vall d'en Bas (The Bas Valley). The small village of Hostalets d'en Bas - which often impresses the visitor for its unique beauty - marks the beginning of a long first ascension - from 500 to over 900 m. In almost 5 km- to the Santurari de La Salut, with its cozy restaurant. A magnificent descent - along a formidable path, along a very broken track - will take us to some of the most beautiful corners of the route for its beech, streams and paths, before reaching the wonderful town of Sant Feliu de Pallerols, for The one that is worth "to lose" by some of its narrow streets and corners; A beautiful return to the past. A lot of history.

Itinerario Día 2

Shorter but much more technical, the route starts rolling with half a dozen volcanoes - in fact most of the rocks that we will see are of volcanic origin- by an easy and relatively touristic route. But after Volcà de Pujalós everything changes; Soon we will reach the highest point of the day (after some hard section), to go and look for one of the best trails of the Pedals d'Olot that we will take us to Begudà. Before, we will see a wonderfull romanic bridge. One of so many inspirations of the Olot Pictoral School.
